There have been many new developments concerning the coronavirus pandemic and its impact on the court system and the practice of law in New York. The New York State Unified Court System has announced an all remote video conferencing plan that will allow litigants, attorneys and judges to appear remotely. This plan is being implemented across the state to allow for emergency cases to be heard while making sure no one is exposed to the coronavirus. As the system becomes more widespread in use and capability the intent is to take more matters online and allow more family court and divorce litigation to proceed forward using technology to eliminate the courtroom as a communicable disease vector. This system went online in Upstate New York this week. We are prepared to participate in this model and have the technology to advance cases as the courts expand use of the system. We are continuing to process work on our clients' behalf as the various restrictions permit. We will post new information as significant changes evolve. If you have any questions, please reach out to our firm directly.
